Designed by Thomas Jan Owczarzak for his lovely wife and life partner, Lisa. This stunning piece was the recipient of an Honorable Mention award in the Japanese International Pearl Design competition held in Tokyo, Japan in 1988. The Biwa pearl, a double, is a cultured freshwater pearl from Lake Biwa, Japan. The Biwa pearl is representative as the shape of the woman's gown. The brooch has a 14kt yellow gold double concentric ring that is channel set with 13 full cut diamonds graduating from approx. 0.03ct to approx. 0.005ct and weighing 0.20cts total weight. The woman has a flower in her hair and 11 round Japanese Akoya cultured pearls, graduating in size from 3mm to 1.5mm, and strung on a 14kt yellow gold wire on the outside curve of the trim rings. This piece has been finished with a 14kt pin stem and catch.
